Staying Well after Depression

What is the wait for treatment group?

For every 5 individuals who take part in the study 1 will be randomly allocated to a wait for treatment group. In this group you will engage in the research in a similar way so will asked to complete questionnaires and come in for assessments over the 15 month period. The advantage of being in the wait for treatment group is that you have a choice as to whether you receive mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) or Cognitive Psycho Education (CPE) following this 15 month period. During the period when you are waiting for treatment you will continue to receive other treatments and seek extra help (e.g. from their GPs) in the usual way. The wait for treatment group provides crucial information in validating the research.
